Similarly, the cities of Cedar Key and Chiefland and several other communities will receive $5 million to add over 1,096 miles of fiber optic cable, benefiting 1,238 unserved locations.
This announcement builds on Governor DeSantis' earlier commitment of more than $226 million for broadband projects across 53 Florida counties, which aimed to connect more than 250,000 homes and businesses to the internet.
